Fitness is an important aspect in our Taekwondo class, especially where children are involved Taekwondo itself often challenge your muscles and cardiovascular system. Taekwondo are known for being strong, flexible and physically fit.

Self Defence

The ability to defend by oneself for children against an attacker is an empowering feeling. Our Taekwondo class teach self-defence moves, along with one step sparring (controlled environment) and free sparring. The precise methods will vary from discipline to discipline, but you can be certain that with regular practice, your children will learn to defend themselves in a variety of different ways. We also teach street-smart techniques to kids to help avoid problems such as bullying and threat altogether.

Taekwondo help implants mental focus in your children, giving them the ability to concentrate on a task and see it through to its conclusion. The discipline that is taught in the gym in regard to manners and techniques often translates into other areas of life, including school and household chores.

Taekwondo is all about respect. Punching, kicking, blocking is all secondary to the respect that is shown from the moment you walk into the gym. They also learn to treat other students as they wish to be treated.

A child who is involved in our Taekwondo class is generally a child who is confident in himself. Working through Taekwondo and the belt ranking system gives child measurable goals to follow that are realistic to attain. The sense of accomplishment a child feels by mastering a new technique or graduating to a new belt follows them everywhere they go.
